Caryl Serbin, RN, BSN, LHRM, President and Founder of Serbin Medical Billing, LLC (SMB), specializes in obtaining maximum reimbursement for physician-owned and hospital joint-ventured ambulatory surgery centers through expert revenue cycle management.
Prior to SMB, she served as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Strategy Officer for Source Medical Solutions (SMS) after SMS purchased Serbin Surgery Center Billing (SCB), an ASC billing and coding company. Ms. Serbin was President, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer for both SCB and Surgery Consultants of America (SCA), a consulting company specializing in ASC development and management. She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare with the last twenty-five years focused solely on the ASC industry.
As a recognized leader in the industry, Ms. Serbin has presented extensively at ASC national seminars and association meetings, authored articles on reimbursement, managed care negotiations and related topics and has contributed to industry publications for the past several years.* She was recognized in Who’s Who in the Ambulatory Surgery Center Industry and chosen as the spokesperson for the Natioanl ASC Association to present a series of educational seminars on the changing CMS payment system and its impact on ASCs. Ms. Serbin and her companies were listed in the top 100 companies to watch from 2003 through 2011 by Becker’s ASC Communications.
