Caryl Serbin Contributes Column on Developing an ASC Fee Schedule

Caryl Serbin, RN, BSN, LHRM, President and Founder of Serbin Medical Billing, wrote a column for Becker's ASC Review that provides insight and guidance for ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) on how to develop their fee schedule.

Guidance covers areas including:

  • Forming a team and choosing team members

  • Evaluating patient demographics

  • Building the procedure list

  • Performing cost analysis

  • Maintaining compliance

As Caryl notes, “While developing a fee schedule may seem like a complex procedure, remember that your fee schedule sets the stage for reimbursement, allows for a reasonable profit margin, helps you meet governmental requirements and regulations, and ultimately determines the financial success of your ASC. Take the necessary time to do it right.”
